Expert Tutoring

I have extensive experience in tutoring across multiple year levels. Holding a Master of Teaching (Primary) as well as a PhD in English Literature, I provide students of all levels with a solid grounding in the foundations of reading and writing.

My work in educational publishing has also provided me with key insights into meeting assessment criteria. I've also written a dozen guides to high school texts, which has required the capacity to explain the ‘nuts and bolts’ of each one.

I'm experienced working with students of all ages, both one-on-one and in classes. From teaching reading techniques to students to disabilities to tutoring university short courses on clear expression, I'm an experienced, attentive and knowledgeable guide. As a skilled journalist and editor, I'm adept at coaching students in improving the clarity of their expression and argumentation.

This practical educational experience has honed my ability to assist students in working productively with the school curriculum, including preparing for exams and offering detailed feedback on essay drafts. Responding in detail to each student’s level and unique learning style, I offer a tailored approach to learning that brings out their unique strengths.
